Giulio is a solicitor at Shearman Bowen, having qualified in March 2026 after completing his training contract under the supervision of Vivien Cochrane and Mark Bowen.
He advises on a broad range of criminal matters, including conspiracy, fraud, money laundering and sexual offences. He has a particular interest in complex cases, particularly those involving extensive disclosure and the analysis of detailed legal and factual issues.
Giulio also has a strong interest in cases with an international dimension, reflecting his academic background in international relations. Between September and November 2026, he was seconded to the international team at Carter-Ruck, where he worked on matters involving trade and financial sanctions. This included assisting with an HMRC-led investigation into suspected breaches of trade sanctions and contributing to advice concerning the potential designation of a high-profile individual.
As an accredited police station representative, Giulio regularly advises and represents clients in interview, dealing with all aspects of police investigations. He places particular emphasis on effective pre-charge engagement to secure the best possible outcomes for his clients.
Despite being early in his career, Giulio has already achieved notable results. He secured a decision by the prosecution to offer no evidence in a possession with intent to supply case involving a quantity of drugs, successfully challenging the interpretation of phone evidence and the alleged link to supply. In another matter, he assisted a vulnerable client in avoiding serious charges, resulting in a conditional discharge for assault on an emergency worker.
Before joining Shearman Bowen, Giulio worked as a paralegal at a highly regarded Legal 500 London criminal firm. He also gained experience at legal charity Advocate, specialising on family and employment law.
Giulio completed the LPC with distinction in 2024. He holds an LLB (Senior Status) from the University of Cambridge, a Master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Oxford, and a BA in International Relations from the University of Milan, Italy.
Giulio is a member of the British Italian Law Association (BILA).
