Acquittal in Prison Drones and Drugs Conspiracy Case

10.07.26

Our client, a young woman of good character, was acquitted of charges relating to her alleged involvement in a complex conspiracy concerning the conveyance and supply of Class A and B drugs and prohibited articles into HMP Wandsworth.

The prosecution case centred on allegations of drugs, mobile phones and other prohibited items being conveyed into prison through the use of drones within a wider multi-handed operation.

The client was acquitted on all but one of the charges against her, on which the jury were unable to reach a verdict. Following the verdicts, the Prosecution indicated that they would seek a retrial in respect of the outstanding count. Detailed written representations were submitted on behalf of the client, inviting them not to pursue a retrial both on public interest and evidential grounds. The representations were ultimately successful as the Prosecution agreed not to pursue a retrial against our client.

We are delighted for our client, who had to endure serious allegations and lengthy Crown Court proceedings, including a 7 week trial, to achieve this outcome.
