Connie Butler // Paralegal

Connie joined the team at Shearman Bowen in July 2025 and works as a paralegal assisting Mark Bowen across a wide range of criminal matters. She supports clients throughout their proceedings, from the pre-charge stage to sentencing, with experience in matters involving murder, grievous bodily harm, fraud, drug offences, and other general criminal matters.

Connie read Law at the University of Exeter, graduating in 2023 with a 2:1. During her studies, she took part in pro-bono work and gained practical experience at leading criminal chambers. There, she shadowed barristers in trials involving gang-related murder, ENCRO-associated drug trafficking, and appeals before the Court of Appeal.

Connie is dedicated to pursuing a career in criminal defence and is currently undertaking her Police Station Accreditation, with the aim of qualifying as a police station representative. Furthermore, she intends to undertake the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE) in 2027.
