Acquittal at the Central Criminal Court following 5 week trial

08.08.25

We acted for a vulnerable 17 year old client acquitted at the Central Criminal Court in a trial lasting 5 weeks.

Our client was one of five alleged to have been involved in a shooting in East London from April 2023. Our client was charged with perverting the course of justice, the allegation being he transported the firearm used in a multi-handed attempted murder.

The Crown’s case relied heavily on cell site evidence, which they stated demonstrated that our client travelled in a car away from the scene to dispose of the firearm used during the incident. Following significant preparation and detailed analysis with the assistance of our forensic expert, we were able to rebut the Crown’s evidence and to secure the client’s acquittal.

The team was led by Cally Gormally assisted by Caitlin Albert. Forensic cell site experts Tower Forensics Ltd were a source of constant support during the case. Counsel Nick Whitehorn was instructed from 25 Bedford Row Chambers
