Colette qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and has over 12 years experience in criminal litigation.
Before joining Shearman Bowen & Co. earlier this year, Colette was a senior solicitor at Russell-Cooke and a partner at Sternberg Reed.
Colette has extensive experience in all aspects of criminal litigation and a proven track record in dealing with complex criminal matters. She has represented defendants charged with serious offences including fraud, money laundering and confiscation proceedings, murder, armed robbery, rape, drug supply, football related violence, serious sexual offences and possession of indecent images of children. Colette also has experience advising clients who are vulnerable and suffer from mental health disorders. She also has a keen interest in reputation management of professionals whose integrity is compromised.
Colette has participated in training programmes for Legal Network TV.
She is a member of Amnesty International and a keen runner.

R v Murphy 2010 Southwark Crown Court represented client who faced allegations of mortgage fraud and money laundering relating to controlling prostitution for gain. Acquitted after trial.
R v Delaney 2010 Kingston Crown Court represented members of the travelling community charged with conspiracies to commit high value burglaries in the Home Counties.
R v S 2010 Croydon Crown Court 12 year old boy charged with serious sexual assault on another pupil at school. Acquitted after trial.
R v J 2010 Inner London Crown Court 14 year old boy charged with rape of 14 year old girl. Acquitted after trial.
R v Beaumont 2009 Central Criminal Court client charged with murder following incident outside a nightclub in South London. Acquitted following a submission of no case to answer.
R v Forbes 2009 Blackfriars Crown Court client faced allegations of possession and distribution of indecent images of children. Sentence appealed and is now the guideline case on amended IPP legislation: R v Forbes [2007] EWCA Crim 621
R v O’Shea, Doyle and others 2009 Central Criminal Court clients faced allegations of conspiracy to commit GBH, false imprisonment and blackmail. Proceedings stayed as an abuse of process.
R v A 2009 Kingston Crown Court 14 year old client was one of 9 youths charged with conspiracy to rob, involving over 100 robberies in South London. Acquitted after trial.
R v P 2009 Kingston Crown Court 16 year old female charged with false imprisonment and assault connected with a serious sexual assault on another female.
R v De Villiers 2008 Blackfriars Crown Court represented a vulnerable client with mental health difficulties. In confiscation proceedings, the Court stayed the proceedings as an abuse of process.
R v Gray 2008 Snaresbrook Crown Court client charged with conspiracy to commit armed robberies involving cash in transit security vehicles.
R v Page 2007 Basildon Crown Court former Royal Protection Officer charged with dangerous driving, assault and false imprisonment. Acquitted after trial.
